The debut author of The Poet X (Harper) has already garnered multiple awards, winning the 2018 Boston Globe–Horn Book Award for Fiction and being named a finalist for both the National Book Award for Young People’s Literature and the Kirkus Prize. Elizabeth Acevedo kicked off our seventh annual SLJTeen Live! virtual conference on August 15. Check out the recording of Acevedo’s keynote, in which she talks about her path to publication, the importance of literacy and seeing yourself books, and more.
