VIDEO: A Peer’s Guide to Smore: A Quick Tutorial and Specific Tips for Librarians

New Jersey high school librarian Elissa Malespina offers her insight on Smore—the basics plus some ways for librarians to use it effectively.

The school closures in response to the coronavirus pandemic have left educators scrambling to use technology in the most productive ways. Many school librarians were already on the cutting edge of edtech and particular platforms, but others are being thrown into the mix without much background knowledge. For those trying to catch up but intimidated by the company tutorials or unable to make the connection from the platform to the library application, SLJ asked a few librarians from around the country to help.

In this installment of the series, Elissa Malespina, a teacher librarian at Verona (NJ) High School, ISTE U instructor, and chairperson of the NJ Future Ready Librarians Task Force, walks us through Smore—first with a basic tutorial then, in a second video, she shares how the platform can specifically be used by school librarians.
