Using AI to Assist Librarian and Student Job Searches

A New Jersey school librarian who used AI during her recent job search shares tips for librarians and students applying for a new position. 

 

Recently, I found myself back in the job market due to a reduction in force. During the application and interview process, I leaned heavily on AI for writing resumes, cover letters, and thank you notes, as well as answering job application questions. By leveraging generative AI, you can make your job search more efficient, less stressful, and ultimately more successful.

Here are some specific prompts I used during my job search, with links to videos to show you how to use these prompts to best present yourself for an available position. These tips and prompt templates can be shared with students as they seek employment during and after high school.
