PreS-K—In this rudimentary introduction to biology, Miss Katie—an enthusiastic, pigtailed young woman—and her animated hummingbird friends, Zipper and Zeus, discuss biology and present animal-themed games to young viewers. They state that biology is the study of living things, such as people, animals, and plants, and that imagination is needed to ask and answer questions. One game involves selecting the correct answer based on clues about the creatures' bodies. Given the age of the intended audience, some animals may need further explanation, such as mudpuppies, white-bellied fantails, and katydids. The animation is poor, sometimes looking pixelated, and the mouths of the hummingbirds do not always move. The audio is inconsistent, and Katie's voiceover echoes as though she is sitting in an empty room.
VERDICT Considering the quality of the program and the extremely basic content, pass in favor of better sources.
