This first book in a new historical fiction tale is inspired by A Thousand and One Nights; many listeners may be interested enough to seek out the original. Ariana Delawari's languid narration creates a relaxed environment reminiscent of the book's setting. Listeners who prefer a quicker pace might prefer the print edition.
VERDICT This audiobook would make a good addition to middle school or high school collections.
