The Witches of Silverlake

Gr 10 Up–A quirky group of high school friends is put to the test with the consequences of using magic. It’s hard enough to move to a new school. Harder still to make new friends. When Elliot shows up for his first day at the academy, he comes with baggage of his own: trauma from his father having died by suicide, his mother is the new vice-principal, and he’s still having nightmarish visions. Then into his life come Alex and Rachel, two fellow outcasts who invite him to join their coven. Elliot learns quickly that he is tied to something very dark, and Silverlake isn’t ready for the power and chaos that this bond will ultimately create. Singer-songwriter Curtis expands his repertoire past his recent push into novel-writing and works with horror illustrator, Son, to bring both ancient magic and modern life to a private school that feels right out of a 1990s teen slasher. Readers will anxiously await the next volume to find out what happens with Elliot and his new friends.
