Gr 5-8–Birley, coauthor of Blogging for Dummies, shares a wealth of ideas to consider when creating and organizing a well-styled vlog. Chapters focus on preproduction planning and writing, video, sound, lighting production, and postproduction editing and publishing. Readers are reminded of online safety throughout the book. Birley does not emphasize technical details regarding how to use equipment or software; serious vloggers will need to supplement this title with technical texts or online resources. The graphics and text layout on each two-page spread are bright and helpful. A list of online resources and tools, information on specific vloggers, and a glossary are appended.
VERDICT Given the popularity of vlogging, this well-written book should be considered by most libraries.
