A drawing of a heart and reassurance from her mother lets Gertie see the truth, right before she meets the newest member of the family. The font is on the small side for emerging readers, but they will immediately discern that a parent always has room for a growing family.
VERDICT A good story to have on hand for families expecting a new addition.
