Gr 2–4—The seven stories in this easy chapter book are full of pranks and downright disgusting episodes. Each has an "aha" moment where a moral-like truth is laid out for readers. For example, in one story, a boy lends some money to a "street kid" who comes to stay with his family for a weekend. He runs into Bazza a few weeks later, and the kid is rude and ignores him. Several years later, Bazza sends the boy a letter apologizing for how he acted, saying that he has since learned that there aren't that many good people in the world but the boy was one of them. Also, the frequent Australian terms will be difficult for children who aren't familiar with "footies" or "goolies." Black-and-white cartoons are scattered throughout.—
