The anthropomorphic hot dog shares all the things they love about Christmas, including playing outside in the snow, bows and ribbons on presents, and holiday sweaters. Weenie’s tour of holiday delights culminates in the conclusion that the best thing about Christmas is the togetherness of the season. Simple word pairings such as big and small, will be a familiar theme for the earliest readers, while the introduction of Weenie, who is reminiscent of a craft stick with google eyes, may provide some novelty.
VERDICT A secondary purchase. Buy this one as a holiday-themed addition for board book collections where humorous holiday titles have proven popular.
