PreS-Gr 2—Peppa, a charming piglet, loves her piggy family: her little brother George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig, and Grandma and Grandpa Pig. Together they play, imagine, and learn. Peppa's adventures are relatively short and easy for young viewers to follow and relate to. Though Peppa often makes mistakes, such as getting herself stuck in playground equipment, her family and friends calmly help her work through the problem. The grownups in Peppa's world are extraordinarily patient as the piglet and her friends clumsily try new things and get carried away in make-believe play. Her parents and grandparents often join in with Peppa and her friends, which puts a lovely focus on family relationships. Each short episode provides simple lessons about friendship and love. Peppa and her little brother George go boating with Grandma and Grandpa Pig, they meet their friends Granddad Dog and Danny Dog on the river. Grandpa Pig and Granddad Dog are best friends, but when they get into a fight, it takes Peppa and Danny to work things out. The voices of the characters are expressive and funny, and the animation is similar to the illustration style in the "Peppa Pig" books (Candlewick), with gentle colors and simple shapes. Fans of the series will enjoy this animated version of Peppa and her adventures.—Jenny Ventling, Greene County Public Library, OH
