Bored and restless on a hot summer day, Mr. Putter calls neighbor Mrs. Teaberry. With cat Tabby and dog Zeke in tow, they board a sightseeing boat. Zeke enjoys the voyage--and the "orangesicles"!--so much that he refuses to leave, and the ship's captain must coax him off. Howard's airy pencil, watercolor, and gouache illustrations perfectly suit the breezy story.
