Readers are presented with a rainbow of colorful edibles and then asked which item each animal would like to eat, starting with early in the morning until bedtime at night. For example, "Bright yellow sunshine wakes Raccoon up. He wants to eat something YELLOW." Raccoon can choose from a banana, a boot, a pineapple, a flower, or an apple. A lift of a flap reveals that he chose a banana. A spread is devoted to each color. Yellow, green, white, red, orange, or blue-purple categorize the choices for a raccoon, monkey, puppy, lion, panda, tiger, and bunny. The large, cheerful images have a collagelike appearance.
