PreS-Gr 2—Clarence is a superhero truck who zooms in as his alter ego, Mighty Truck, whenever there's an emergency. In fact, he's so busy, he barely has time to hang out with his best friend, Bruno. When Clarence's skills are called for yet again, to save an arena of Muddymania fans from a runaway vehicle, his secret is in peril, but his friendship remains steadfast. The dialogue here is sometimes tiresome ("I, uh, just remembered…"; "You should, like, thank Mighty Truck!") and the computer-generated images overly busy. Still, some children devour truck books, and this title will find fans among those who have graduated from Sallie Wolf and Andy Robert Davies's Truck Stuck.
VERDICT Consider for insatiable truckophiles. A workable addition.

Rusty truck Clarence is also the heroic Mighty Truck, unbeknownst to his best friend, cement mixer Bruno. When a crisis occurs at Muddymania, Clarence saves the day (with Bruno's help), revealing his secret identity to his accepting friend. Though pacing and transitions are a bit choppy, young truck and superhero fans should still be entertained. Occasional speech bubbles and the digital illustrations add cartoon flair.
