Media Literacy for Justice: Lessons for Changing the World

De Abreu, a global media literacy educator at Sacred Heart University, provides a comprehensive handbook that focuses on the juncture of justice and media literacy. “Young people need to become not only savvy consumers of media, but informed contributors to it as well,” says Yohuru Williams in the foreword. Each chapter contains an essay, a reflection by a contributing scholar, and a suggested lesson idea or plan that can be adapted for a K–12 school, college or university, or community center setting.
