PreS-K—Trapani begins this delightful picture book with the six lines of the traditional nursery rhyme. Then a grand imagination transports Little Miss Muffet into other adventurous encounters with nature, where she meets a frog, a moose, and a crow, to name a few. Little Miss Muffet finally settles down after her harrowing day to bedtime coziness. The artwork clearly supports the humor found in the eight additional verses. Children can view a variety of perspectives, such as the child falling head first into water, exposing only her black shoes and drenched pantaloons. Group leaders can use this story to guide the audience as they act out the abundance of action words with the verses. Simple musical notation is included.—
