PreS-Gr 3–This debut picture book is built more for home than library use. As she does on her “Really Crunchy Mom” YouTube channel, Morrow shares, in a comedic style, how she protects her young children from toxins. An ordinary day, doing ordinary things, like eating breakfast, washing and putting away the dishes after a meal, and cleaning one’s room can be a great adventure and lots of fun, especially when children are allowed to use their imaginations. Garland does a wonderful job of bringing these lessons to life; matching Morrow’s passion for the health and safety for young children through examples of how to complete tasks in the house, taking care of the family pet, and the importance of children playing outside. Back matter includes a message for parents.
VERDICT An excellent book for parents to read with their children of how they can be a big help in their homes.
