Isabella: Star of the Story

PreS-Gr 4—Isabella, the purple-haired girl with the big imagination, is back for another adventure. This time, she visits her local public library and assumes a starring role in several classic children's titles. Letting her imagination run wild, she becomes Peter Pan, flying to the children's room and never outgrowing a good story. Next, she becomes Goldilocks, searching for the perfect book, and Captain Nemo on one of his legendary dives. Isabella also imagines herself as Black Beauty, galloping off for a great tale, and Alice, chasing the White Rabbit. It isn't until after she's become Dorothy, following the yellow brick road to the checkout desk, that she once again turns into Isabella, the girl who loves a good story. Mike Litwin's vibrant mixed-media illustrations give the classics a fresh spin, and viewers will love watching Isabella morph into the famous characters. Upbeat narration is complemented by background music as Isabella explores each tale.
