Baby-Toddler–The “Canticos” chicks return in this love letter to moms. The three little chicks demonstrate their appreciation and love for their mother with drawings, flowers, and a yummy breakfast. In sometimes saccharine rhyme, the little ones thank her for being attentive at night and caring for their needs. The text is repetitive and lyrical, which will be soothing as a sweet bedtime read. The charming images, saturated in pinks and yellow, are a good match for this lift-the-flap board book.
VERDICT A nice addition to Mother’s Day shelves, though it might have more success as a gift book than a library book. A Spanish edition is also available.
