How To Catch the Tooth Fairy

PreS-K—In this latest addition to the "How To Catch" titles, children set elaborate traps, hoping to catch the tooth fairy in action. Every evening a pink-haired tooth fairy, dressed like Amelia Earhart, flies from house to house on a toothbrush, trying to collect children's teeth. This isn't as easy as it sounds, though, because at each house, she has to avoid complex snares, such as a dental floss web, a red-lipped Venus flytrap, a gooey marshmallow catapult, mousetraps, cages, and boxes on pulley systems. Luckily, the sprite is resourceful, and with help from her night-vision goggles and her magic fairy dust, she thwarts every trap. The story ends with the tooth fairy offering children a challenge: Who will be the one who finally catches her? Elizabeth Cottle's expressive narration perfectly captures the character's spunk, and upbeat instrumental background music helps round out the production. Appropriate sound effects, including alarm clocks and crickets, enhance the story as well. The colorful illustrations feature a diverse cast of children.
