Baby-Toddler–Singing is a great way to help with oral language development as well as teaching new concepts. This adaptation of the beloved song does just that. Silver adds a number of verses that are all based on healthy habits: nutrition, exercise, hand-washing, reading, even sleeping. The biracial family featured shows a mother, father, and two children. The artwork is vividly colored and lively, with a folk art feel, modern and traditional at the same time. It’s the perfect match for an old song fitted out with so many bright new lessons. Educators will appreciate the end notes that have links to both audio and other support on each topic.
VERDICT This is a delightful way to have kids learn and develop healthy habits. A welcome addition to a preschool collections.
