Gr 5–9—The latest entries in the Chrome series provides highly readable basic information in attractively illustrated formats. Gladiators and Tanks combine bright action photos and drawings with detailed information about warriors and weapons. Atlantis, Chicago Fire and Shakespeare are adequate choices for reports and reading practice. Unfortunately, Space Exploration is little more than a list of successful and tragic space missions. Its discussion of the space race is overly simplistic and will have little appeal beyond dedicated space buffs.
VERDICT Purchase Gladiators and Tanks; consider other titles based upon need and student interest.
