The straightforward texts offer overviews of each activity, outlining equipment, fishing and hunting methods, and critical safety guidelines. Each title has a visual equipment checklist kids could use to prepare themselves for a hunting expedition. Particularly in the hunting titles, readers (children and grown-ups alike) will appreciate the attention paid to the importance of attending hunter's safety courses. In terms of safety, Bear Hunting in particular does not mince words about the serious dangers involved in the sport. There are no grisly field-dressing images, making these appropriate for children who are just beginning to form an interest in hunting and fishing.
