Construction Site Gets a Fright!

Toddler-PreS–Even the mightiest of machines can get a fright from time to time, and everyone’s favorite construction crew is in for some spooky tricks on this dark and windy All Hallow’s Eve. Still dressed in their Halloween finest, each digger and mover encounters a frightful scene on their way to bed: Crane Truck sees a monster, Dump Truck happens upon a witch, Bulldozer encounters a giant, and Skid Loader hears something shriek. Fortunately, the scary spectacles are quickly debunked by the crew as harmless construction site clutter. As all the trucks are about to tuck themselves into bed, Cement Mixer stirs up a ruckus, alerting the crew to the appearance of a ghoulish ghost. Nothing is as it seems on this Halloween night, and the trucks have a good laugh as they discover the specter was none other than their sheet-clad friend Excavator. Rinker’s rhymes and Ford’s illustrations are a formula that can be placed in almost any context to great success. The lift-the-flap format adds to the visual impact of the crew’s perception versus reality.
