A butterfly is a silent, but comedic, companion to the monster; the butterfly’s reactions to the situations are a visual clue for young readers. Every sentence starts with “Big Bub,” and this repetition, along with bright colors and lists of word families, sight words, and “bonus words,” makes this an ideal choice for new readers.
