Being Me from A to Z

Gr 1-3–An ABC primer on being a good human that touches on many topics including adventure, bravery, daring, empathy, love, nature, justice, mistakes, persistence, questions and wonder. Each letter gets its own rhyming explanation that varies in length and complexity. “C stands for caring, but you’ll need courage too, to show compassion for those who are different from you.” The text and illustration perfectly complement the other. The illustrations feature a multicultural cast of characters in a vast variety of settings. Cleverly, they often show a little story over a two-page spread incorporating two different letters. Most readers will find themselves reflected somewhere in these illustrations. There are plenty of bold colors and great details that are especially good for reading aloud.
