Gr 2–4—In this fourth book in the series, Agatha's brother James begins receiving emails from a mystery girl named Bella. Meanwhile, Agatha's friend Martha has gotten in trouble with her mother and is forced to join the spelling club instead of playing football. When Agatha intercepts Bella's emails and begins to reply as her brother, she learns about the star words for the spelling club, thereby allowing her friend to cheat. The plot is a little far-fetched, but Agatha's humorous narration almost makes up for it. The cultural differences such as tea time and football (soccer) will be unfamiliar to young American readers. In addition, the British spellings may be confusing to beginning readers.—
